Landmark Video with Local Roots

maldonadoRemember the days before people would huck themselves down almost anything? Most people involved in action sports today probably don’t think about this time too fondly. I remember it well because at the end of that era there was a giant exclamation point that set the new standard for all skate videos going forward. That came in the form of Toy Machine’s “Welcome to Hell.” It featured local skater Mike Maldonado. A local having a feature part in a video that changed the direction of skateboarding, and possibly all action sports, shows the deep roots of our local skate scene. It is well worth the watch.
